Description

This black obsidian carving of a lizard was just screaming to be made into a piece of jewelry. I started by working in sterling silver for the scalloped bezel and 24 gauge backing plate. I put beaded wire around the bezel to reflect the light even more. The finished piece is 3 1/2 inches long and 1 1/8 inches wide. Obsidian can be found in Argentina, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Australia, Canada, Chile, Georgia, Greece, El Salvador, Guatemala, Iceland, Italy, Japan, Kenya, Mexico, New Zealand, Papua New Guinea, Peru, Scotland, Turkey and the United States. The bolo tie for either male or female can be worn close to the skin or over clothing for a statement of sophistication. The bolo tips are sterling silver as well which terminate the braided leather cord which is 36" long. This bolo feels good to the touch!
