The Rabbit Jester is the "Elusive One"

This piece has its roots in medieval street theater when men dressed as animals in order to imitate the animal characteristics found in humans. This was a form of mockery that targeted politicians, royalty and clergy.
The costume is hand-stitched with hand-woven fabrics and brocades. The ears are made with rabbit fur. Glass and wooden beads strung on dyed angora yarn cascade down from the wired and moveable ears. Her face is mischievous, freckled and feminine.
