This is the July edition of 'Mademoiselle' a monthly French women's magazine from 1930.

A gorgeous cover in neutral colours with splashes of red show a stylish woman taking a rest from walking her dog to read her book.

An interesting addition to your vintage collection of French ephemera or a very good resource for your collages, mixed media projects and other art. The cover and some of the inside pages would also be excellent for framing.

'Mademoiselle' concerned itself not only with fashion and crafts but wider cultural issues too. There is also a supplement with this edition which has transferrable embroidery designs.

The magazine is all in French, of course, but it is a delightful social history of the lives of French women more than 80 years ago as reflected not only in the articles and images but also in the advertistsements, some of which for brands which still exist today.

Some slight discolouration here and there commensurate with the age of the magazine but no serious damage. The magazine must have been folded lightly in half at some stage as there is a vertical line running down the front cover and pages but it is not very noticeable.

There are 26 pages and the magazine measures 11" x 8.75".

Thank-you for looking.
