Materials

Thread, Stabilizer, Ribbon, Wooden Beads, Acrylic Beads, Glass Beads, Crystal Chainwork, Cord, Wrapped Twine, Hemp Twine, Craft Feathers

Sure to enchant and delight, these embroidered freestanding dream catchers with FSL feathers are comprised solely of thread (and the hanging materials for the feathers & dream catcher) -- everything else is dissolved away! Note: These are freestanding pieces, they are unbacked so the design can be seen from both sides (although the back side will not look quite as nice).

Dream Catchers are a spiritual tool used to help assure good dreams to those who sleep under them. A dream catcher is traditionally placed over a bed where the morning's light can hit it. As you sleep, all dreams from the spirit world have to pass through the dream catcher. Only good dreams can pass through the feathers to the dreamer, while bad dreams are caught in the webbing where they are destroyed by the first rays of the morning light.

They look beautiful against a window as well as against a wall above a bed or crib, or even suspended like a mobile. Have one made just for you or that special someone. They're beautiful heirloom gifts for new babies and they're outstanding birthday and holiday gifts. Get a pair for Besties. Buy one for the newly married couple, or give one as a unique housewarming gift. Get them for your sisters or your bridesmaids. How about one for your boss or your secretary? Hit that custom order button up there, tell me what you want and I'll fix you straight on up!

Photos of additional styles coming as quickly as I can stitch them. As usual, this listing is being put up quickly because someone wants to buy some and I didn't have a listing for her to do so! Use the dropdowns to tell me which size and style of ring you'd like, also let me know any color preferences, and I'll take care of the rest!

Presently shown:

Small -- Floral Mandala (x2). Circle Centered
Large -- Petals of Lace (x2), Sun Centered, Starflake. Spiderweb

Small dream catchers have about 4.5 to 5.5" rings and include three feathers (each around 3.5 - 5" tall). Large dream catchers are approximately 6 to 8" around and include three feathers that are each about 4.5 - 6" tall. (Sizes vary by design). Because of the nature of these dream catchers, they *cannot* be personalized.

Two and three ring dream catchers have graduating rings and more feathers. Multi-ring dream catchers are only in the floral geometry ring style for now.

Tree of Life dream catchers generally have actual (craft) feathers to lessen the weight and prevent stretching of the ring.

If you'd prefer craft feathers rather than embroidered feathers with your dream catcher in any style ring, just let me know! :)

The Legend of the Dream Catcher --

Dream Catchers are traditionally suspended on cradles or over beds as a form of armor and protection.

Dream catchers can be traced back to the Ojibwes. The Ojibwe people started the phenomenon and over time, dream catchers became adopted by other tribes, cultures and even Nations. Dream catchers today are considered a symbol of oneness and unity among numerous indigenous cultures and regions.

It is believed that dream catchers originated with Asibaikaashi, an Ojibwe shamaness who was known as the Spider Woman. She was a custodian of all the infants and the adults. It became a difficult task for her to take proper care of all the Ojibwe people as they started spreading geographically across North America. To help Asibaikaashi, women of the tribe were put in charge of weaving the magical webs for new infants. The children were provided with these charms as a medium of protection which were idealized to catch any sort of harm that might be present around that place or time. The web absorbs terrible dreams at night and discharges them during the day. The feathers act like ladders allowing only good dreams to descend on the infant or adult who is sleeping.

Shipping policies

I usually ship via USPS with a tracking number, although I sometimes use priority mail, UPS or Fed Ex depending on the weight of the package.

If your order includes anything framed with glass, it will absolutely be shipped insured. - Damaged items will be remade and reshipped (with new insurance!) after you send me a digital photo so I can file an insurance claim on it. There will be no additional charges to you for remaking and reshipping, I will get it back with the claim.

International Customers from the UK -- please be aware that you may be required to pay additional delivery or tariffs when you receive your order. I am told this is a VAT (Value Added Tax). To my knowledge this is only happening to customers in the UK. The international shipping that I am paying is inclusive of all shipping and handling, but apparently that does NOT include the VAT and they will not permit me to prepay it for you. So just please be aware and know that this is 100% out of my control.

Need it tomorrow? Rush shipping is available for an additional charge (at cost), contact me for details!

I can also ship it Priority or Priority Express for an additional charge (at lesser additional cost), contact me!

Additional policies

Custom orders are welcome! In fact, they're pretty much the norm here! Please let me know what you're after and we'll get you squared away.

All items are made by me, in my non-smoking home. Although we are a smoke-free home, we are not a glitter-free home. Items in my shop may include trace amounts of glitter. Glittered items in my shop are guaranteed to include enough glitter to satisfy even the sparkliest of divas. There is never an extra charge for glitter. ;-)

Because I'm trying to keep things consistent and affordable, I try to keep my prices pretty standard. Generally I set prices based on the size of the embroidery, including the stitchcount, fabric used and etc. All items are made by me (other than apparel, towels, etc. that you send to me to embroider!). I do not buy blanks and embroider on them, I construct your items to order at the time you order them.

Smaller unframed wall art with unfinished edges usually runs $10-30, while larger is generally $25-50.

Hooped art starts at $27.50 for 5" designs. Larger rectangular designs with constructed framework are $45-60 based on size and number of layers.

Pillows -- I generally suggest to my clients that they purchase pillow forms off Amazon, and I will make them pillow cases to fit those pillow forms. This way you are only paying me for the cost to ship you the pillow cases! I will instruct you which pillow forms to purchase, in order to insure that you get a nice fit. I have samples in each of the standard sizes so that photos can be sent showing you exactly what your pillow case(s) will look like when you shove your pillow forms into them! :)

Bags, Pouches, Cases, Totes & Purses range in price based on size, fabric, features, etc. They range from a low of $5 to a high of $75. Most are in the $20-$50 range. As previously mentioned I construct all of these items to order, I do not purchase blank totes and embroider on them.

Two bags of identical size may be priced differently based on stitchcounts! If bag A has a 12,000 stitch design and bag B has a 56,000 stitch design, bag B IS going to be more expensive! Likewise, a bag made of cotton fabric is going to be cheaper than a similarly sized bag made of linen or microfiber, etc.

Embroidered apparel, towels, blankies, etc. are priced based on stitchcount, and the cost of the item being embroidered upon. (If you have the item shipped to me, the charge is based only on the embroidery. In most cases this will be $17.50 to $25 per item depending on stitch counts, etc.)

Please contact me if you have ANY questions on pricing.
