Straight out of a local barn! Offering a fascinating piece of bicycle history. This headlamp was used on the very first motorized bicycles, which were all the rage at the turn of the century. Now this concept is coming back in bikes. I love how history circles around.

This is a fantastic piece of mechanical history. Heavy patina, is made of either chrome, brass or copper. Faceted red and green/blue glass on each side. The clear glass lens is missing, most likely from a bicycle accident. The burner mechanism for burning gas is intact. Vented at the top to allow fumes to escape.

Measures approximately 7 1/4 inches high x 7 1/2 inches deep x 4 3/8 inches wide. The patina is so dark that I cannot read the manufacturers mark. I can read Birmingham, Patent and Do Not Fill Carbide Past This Line.

This lamp retains the original bracket that would have held it on to the bicycle. It is adjustable and goes up and down.

This is one of the most unique examples of 19th century/early 20th century mechanical industrial machine history that I have seen. This is a stunning display piece which is irresistible-everyone just stares at it and asks what it is!

Guaranteed antique & authentic. This is NOT a reproduction. Satisfaction guaranteed.
