This is my latest wooden polyhedron urn for ashes, the 'Octahedron". It is a unique geometric design that holds ashes of up to a 150-pound human or pet. The interior is easily accessed by removing the base which is securely attached using three brass screws.
The urn is sealed with shellac and the exterior is finished with water based lacquer polished and buffed to a beautiful sheen.

I make this octahedron cremation urn in a 65 pound size appropriate for pets and smaller humans.
To view the 65 pound (cu-in) urn see this listing:

The finish I use is a CAB acrylic lacquer from Sherwin Williams with the vinyl sealer base coat. I often use paste wax with steel wool to make the piece feel better to the touch and to bring out the sheen.
Very little care if any is necessary aside from removing dust occasionally. You can use an air canister if you like. You may also use any wax type polish to bring out the sheen. If alcohol or a chemical gets on the piece, wipe off immediately. Letting a chemical sit will ruin the finish.
The leather lining I use is a synthetic suede called Ultrasuede. It can be wiped clean with a damp cloth.
Custom orders are accepted based on wood type only, unless a large quantity is desired. My boxes are all made in batches and are not conducive to size changes. I can do monograms as seen in this listing:
