This exotic hardwood bowl was handmade using a wood lathe and my own design. This is a segmented bowl made of purpleheart and white limba. Purpleheart grows abundantly in Central and South America. The trees get large. There are many uses, like turnery, furniture, flooring, construction and even bridges. The wood is fairly straight grained but is very popular due to its color. Limba comes from West Africa. Also known as Korina. Used a lot in the guitar making industry due to its good tonal qualities. I create the shape but Mother Nature creates the stunning color and grain of the wood so no two pieces are alike. Turning wood on a lathe to reveal what Mother Nature has created is like opening up a surprise package because you never know what an individual piece will look like!

This bowl will make a very thoughtful gift or an elegant addition to your home decor and it is sure to be a conversation piece at your next gathering. It is hand signed. 5" high x 11" dia.
