Franklin Star is a beautiful quilt with big impact. The finished size is 72 1/2" x 95 1/2". It's made of 12 large star blocks that measure 20" square.

This quilt is designed to be scrappy, but would also look great with three main fabrics plus background fabric. The instructions use four different groups of background, light, medium and dark fabric to make the blocks.

The ruler suggested for use with the pattern is the Triangle in a Square Ruler (small set) by Quilt in a Day. Other rulers that will work are the Tri Recs Ruler from EZ Quilting, or 2 Peaks in 1 Triangle Ruler from Creative Grids. A paper piecing template is included if you prefer this method. (Fabric amounts may need to be adjusted.)

Beautiful pattern. Instructions are written well. It goes together easily and looks stunning. It looks much more difficult than it is. I appreciated the paper piecing template that was included for one element. That made it super simple—no measuring and no fuss. This is going to be a beautiful memory quilt.
