A fabulous vintage Capo-di-Monte floral design nestled into a shallow white woven basket. This lovely arrangement features six large porcelain rose blooms, four pink and two yellow, each measuring approximately 2 1/2" in diameter.

The two end roses have a sweeping, bent stem creating a unique effect, and this delicate sculpture also reveals evidence of the Italian artist's "finger prints".

It is difficult to find these amazing art pieces free of flaws, and alas I have located two petal repairs on one of the center pink roses (see last photo using zoom). I have not noticed any other major flaws, which is unusual for these older pieces, although there may be some slight nicks that are extremely well hidden.

As most collectors / researchers of these amazing handcrafted floral figurines from Italy have discovered, it is not always easy to date them . . .

This piece is marked with a Blue crown N (BCN) and possibly had an attached label which was likely removed by the original owner. I estimate this piece to have been created mid-century c.1940's or earlier.

MEASUREMENTS:
Arrangement:
Length - 7 1/2"
Width - 5 3/4"
Height - 4 3/4"
Oval basket base: 4 1/4" x 3"

I have researched this piece, off and on for several years and would absolutely love to hear from a Capodimonte expert about this piece!
