A beautiful vintage "Gruss aus" (Greetings from) postcard from 1901 (actually sent in 1901 within Germany) showing a lovely German lady with pigtails. The card has some damage at the border. It is titled: Trau! Schau! Wem? (a German expession, literally translated as Trust! Look! Whom?, meaning: "Watch who you trust"). The lady wears a very sportive Art Nouveau outfit with her blue skirt, red blouse and black tie. She has a letter in her hand, probably from a lover, and she stands within a border of forget-me-not flowers. The little poem at the bottom is a warning for her that she will not be too trustful :)

Vertrauen ist ein grosses Gut,
Füllt Dir das Herz mit frohem Mut,
Macht Dir das Leben angenehm,
Doch hüte Dich! und "Trau, schau, Wem?"

Confidence is a great good,
It fills your heart with happy mood,
Makes you a very pleasant life,
But beware! and "Watch who you trust"

All cards come from my own traditional costume collection; because of space shortage, I sell parts of it here on Etsy.

Payment can be done by Paypal and within the EU also by direct bank transfer. Details on request.
