If you aren't certain about my bras here's a good cheap way to find out if they work!

If you send me your measurements, I'll send you a hand-drawn custom bra pattern and detailed instructions for construction of my "Simple" bra. You can get patterns for my other bra's (listing soon!) on another listing.

What (at least one) customer had to say about this pattern:

It came out just right, you are right on with sizing. And the prices can't be beaten, there are no customized patterns in stores. Thank you very much for all of it, and you certainly have an art for patterns. ~Bethanee

Recommended materials: 1/ 2 yard Plain weave cotton or silk. If you are a beginning or intermediate sewer, or have never worked with silk, I strongly recommend cotton. Muslin will not work (its grain is generally slightly side-ways, which will, I swear to you, make your boobs lumpy-looking).

Necessary tools: Sewing machine, fabric marking pen/pencil, very sharp scissors or a rotary cutter and matt. If you choose to do silk you must cut it out with a rotary cutter.

Measurements:

The fist two measurements must be taken bare chested. It is often helpful to bend over facing the floor so your breasts hang straight down. The other measurements can be taken with your bra on and upright. If your nervous about doing your own measurements remember, you know your breasts better than anyone else, you'll probably be more accurate taking them yourself than if someone else took them.

1. Breast width. measure a breast from side to side across the nipple. start at your sternum (the place where you can feel the bone between your breasts) and measure to the outside of your breast. The outside of your breast is where you feel more bone than breast tissue. measure both breasts and mark right and left for me.

2. Breast hight. Measure your breast up and down across the nipple. Start at the bottom of your breast. Since breasts sag you may need to tuck the measuring tape under your breast a little so that it touches the point that is the bottom of your breast proper. measure up and over the nipple to the top of your breast. To determine where you breast ends on top, push on your flesh. When your fingers stop sinking in significantly and you can feel your ribs, that's the top of your breast.

3. Under bust. measure around where your bra band goes.

4. Over shoulder. You may need a friend or lover for this one. Hold a string or measuring tape around your under bust (the measurement you just took). Measure that string just beside the outside of one breast, over your shoulder straight down to where it meets the string again on your back.
