It takes me an entire day to make one of our soft-as-butter baby quilts. First, I cut three yards of cotton into strips, and then I sew them all together, dark next to light and on and on until I have rows and rows of stripes.

Then I cut those stripes on the bias, so that they make little slanted parallelograms. Then all of those parallelograms get pieced together, until the whole thing starts to take shape: a herringbone pattern!

I back these quilts in buttery soft minky, and inside I put a layer of bamboo batting. If you've never felt a quilt with minky on the back and bamboo inside, I can't wait for you to feel this one! It's so incredibly soft and snuggly!

Then the last part comes: I stitch along each herringbone to sandwich all those layers together and sew the binding along all the edges to clean it up. I throw it in the wash so it comes to you with that delicious crinkled look. I fold it up and tie a silky ribbon around it in a coordinating color. That's the very last part before it goes in the box to you!

Finished size: 33"x51"; for reference, a standard crib mattress is 28"x52".

Our cotton is soft to the touch, ORGANIC, and breathable. It has a slight stretch to it, so it works great for things like changing pad covers that need to be pulled off constantly for washing, or boppy covers that need to be flexible with the squishy pillow inside. Choose cotton if you live in a hot climate or have a baby who regularly "sleeps hot."

Minky has a soft, slightly-napped texture like you'd find on a cozy blanket. It's kind of like flannel, but much silkier to the touch. My own babies love minky the best of the two options we offer, and we use it year-round at our house on blankets, loveys, sheets, changing pad covers, and boppy covers.
Organic Cotton: cold water, regular cycle. Machine dry on low without fabric softeners.

Minky: cold water, regular cycle. Machine dry on low. Never iron.

Cloud Blankets and Loveys: air-dry llama-backed blankets and loveys. Cuddle-backed items can be machine washed and dried on a low heat setting.
For a full refund, please cancel your order within 24 hours of placing it. This is because all of our fabrics are uniquely printed for each customer, and the process begins 24 hours after an order is placed.
Thank you for understanding that we do not accept returns.
Llama is the most popular with babies (they're obsessed with the texture!) and it's our favorite too, but it can be finicky in the laundry, so we recommend you hang llama-backed blankets to dry. It's an extra step that takes about an hour, but it keeps the llama looking and feeling soft and fluffy. Llama is about twice as fluffy as our cuddle options.

Cuddle is probably the silkiest of our backings. It has a wavy texture and super soft drape. If you live in a really warm climate and keeping baby cool is your first concern, you'll probably want to consider cuddle first, as it's lighter. Cuddle can withstand machine washing and drying at a low heat setting.
