Materials

Artisan made mandala elements, silver tone Buddha head charms, rudraksha seed beads, ceramic seed beads from India, Swarovski crystals, sterling silver earrings hooks, TierraCast bead caps, silver filled jump rings, clear ear guards

Dimensions

Length: 3 Inches

These colorful mandala earrings feature artisan-made focals of spiritual art, Buddha charms, and dark red Rudraksha seed beads. The artisan created the focals with artist backboard and design paper, then finished them with a sealer. They are lightweight, with a thickness of just under 2mm. Be aware that they are not suitable for water activites or the shower, and that bending them will leave a crease in them. When cared for properly, they will continue to look beautiful and provide you with a pair of earrings that is truly a unique one-of-a-kind creation.

The Buddha charms are made from silver-tone metal and are finely detailed on both the front and back. They are substantial beads and have some weight to them. (You can see the back of one of the charms and mandala components in my photos.) The Rudraksha beads, also known as Shiva's Tears, are from a Dharma shop in Mystic, Connecticut, and came from Nepal. They have been dipped in reddish paint—the first time I've ever seen Rudrakshas like that—and have a lovely presence. The seeds are also lightweight.

For more information about the mandala symbol and rudraksha seeds, please see the end of this listing.

These special earrings also include the following:
• Small ceramic blue beads (made in India)
• TierraCast silver-on-pewter bead caps (made in USA)
• Silver-filled jump rings
• Swarovski Metallic Sunshine bicone crystals (4mm, made in Austria)
• Strong silver plate pins
• Sterling silver earrings hooks
• Clear rubber ear guards (for better security when earrings are worn)

Please note that the dangles are very long, with a length of 3 inches. The mandala elements measure around 1 x 1/2 inches. I've included a photo with a ruler, so you can see these measurements.

Unique, colorful, and meaningful, these mandala earrings with Buddha charms and Rudraksha seeds are sure to please anyone who finds inspiration in the spirituality of India and the Far East—or anyone who simply likes eye-catching boho earrings. They were handmade beaded by me with great care, deep thought, and very best wishes for their destined wearer. They come on a PrettyGonzo earrings card and wrapped in a nice organiza bag, all set for gifting to someone who loves one-of-a-kind jewelry—perhaps yourself!

About Mandalas
A mandala is a meaningful abstract representation of the cosmos or universe. It is an essential component of meditation, ritual, and spirituality in Buddhism and Hinduism. The most complex mandalas are instructional guides through the cosmic spiritual world and along the pathway of Enlightment (Buddhism) or Samadhi (Hinduism). Most commonly in the West, mandalas are decorative objects; like religious mandalas, they will present symmetrical designs built out around a central hub, but their images and meaning will differ. The content of the best secular mandalas is typically intricate and pretty. They provoke an emotional response and convey a sense of peace, energy, or wonder. Even in a secular context, mandalas should not produce negative feelings, and any artist who seeks to elicit anger, hate, and the like in mandala form will be violating the art form and thus creating something else altogether. You should get a good feeling from a mandala, and should select designs based on their positive effect on your mood and emotions.

About Rudraksha Seeds
These interesting and meaningful seeds come from a variety of evergreen that grows in the foothills of the Himalayas and certain areas of Southeast Asia. The name Rudraksha is a compound word, with Rudra representing the name Shiva (Hindu god) and aksha meaning "eyes," The common translation is "Shiva's Tears." The name reflects the role of Shiva in the etiology of the Rudraksha tree. In that legend, Shiva emerges from a long period of meditation with such strong emotions that he sheds a tear, which falls to the earth and grows into the first Rudraksha tree. The seeds from the tree are thus sacred, and in Hindu belief, they are thought to confer the spiritual protection of Shiva. These meaningful seeds are traditionally used as beads in Hindu and Buddhist malas (prayer beads).

Etsy keeps your payment information secure. Etsy shops never receive your credit card information.

I like to ship quickly, usually 1 or 2 days after payment unless it's a weekend or holiday. Please ensure your shipping address is current.

U.S. ORDERS: I ship USPS First Class w/Tracking. If you want to purchase insurance or upgrade, please contact me.

INTERNATIONAL ORDERS: After many years of shipping internationally, I am temporarily ceasing such shipments.

However, if you live outside the U.S. and would like to buy something, contact me. I will do what I can to help. Be aware that any tariffs, customs fees, and surcharges are paid by the buyer.

Note that shipping is now very costly for USPS First Class International, which is what I would normally use. Also, if you live in the EU, I do not have GDPR policies at the moment.
I sincerely want you to be happy with your purchase.

Returns are accepted if you contact me within 7 days after delivery to you. I expect to receive the item no later than 2 weeks after delivery. If this timeframe is problematic for you, contact me before buying. Also, I do allow extensions for special holidays such as Christmas and Valentine's Day, as some people buy early, me included!

For All Items: I will refund for the purchase price minus original shipping cost.

You are responsible for return shipping with tracking (U.S.). Items should be in their original condition, with the original wrapping and packing materials. Extra items, like jewelry cards, gift bags, boxes, freebies, should be included.
Non-receipt: I will do my very best to help you if items go astray. Tracking provides information on the item's routing to its destination, and I always ship directly from the post office rather than relying on postal pick-up. Again, please be sure that your shipping address is CURRENT.

Damage: I pack orders well to minimize any problem in this area. However, if your purchase arrives damaged, contact me immediately. I will do my very best to help.
I accept PayPal and Etsy Payments. Please be aware that even if you are not a member of PayPal, you can securely use it to pay for your purchase with a major credit card.

Payment must be made within 24 hours of purchase or the order will be cancelled.

To Rhode Islanders: Sorry to say, but by law I must apply 7% sales tax to your purchase and pass it on to "the governor."

Buyers from other states may also be charged state sales tax. In this case, your tax payment is determined and handled by Etsy, not me.
Yes, I am always happy to accept a custom order! Whether or not I require a deposit, full amount, or neither will depend on the nature of the order. I have done a number of such orders elsewhere with no deposit or purchase required, as I knew I could simply add those items to my inventory if the customer decided not to purchase. (Customers always did purchase them, though.) I always show photos of custom orders to the customer.
If you are buying a gift for someone and have used that person's address for shipping, please let me know at the time of ordering - I will be happy to include a complimentary notecard in which is written whatever message you would like to send.

Of course, I am always happy to send to that person's address. Just please make sure it is CURRENT. Thank you!
