The Seed Bomb is the ultimate gardening weapon. It is composed of tons of flower seeds encased into a ball of recycled paper pulp that is leftover after I make a batch of handmade plantable paper. Simply throw the seed bomb into an ugly place that needs a little color, water and keep moist until germination then watch wildflowers grow.

Each order comes with a mix of 30 balls in at least 5 different colors but often as many as 15 different colors, packaged in a plastic envelope with an explanation of what they are and how to grow them. Colors will vary depending on what colors of handmade paper I have recently made. If you would like specific colors, send me a convo.

Seed bombs make great favors for an eco-friendly wedding or birthday party, a sweet house-warming gift or a present for the gardener in your life. Give them to teachers so they can put them in a glass jar then place in a sunny place to watch them sprout with their class. I have even had customers use them at funerals and memorial services to give out to guests so that they can plant them in memory of a loved one.

Seed Bombs are encased into a paper pulp that is dried into a hard little ball. The paper protects the seeds until the spring rains soak the paper, making it swell and fall apart so the seeds can grow and bloom. I love recycling, repurposing and reusing, and these seed bombs are the perfect end to a batch of paper.

These tags have been made using recycled paper and 27 wildflower seeds: 16 annuals for first-year color, plus 11 perennials or biennials for second and successive years' bloom. Convo me for a full list of the seeds but here’s a little taste: Nigella damascena (Love In A Mist), Silene armeria (Catchfly). Cosmos bipinnatus (Wild Cosmos), Papaver rhoeas (Red Poppy), Helianthus annuus (Sunflower), Linum grandiflorum rubrum (Scarlet Flax), Dianthus barbatus (Sweet William) and Echinacea purpurea (Purple Coneflower).

I purchase my seeds from American Meadows. For more info about wildflower seeds, go here: http://www.americanmeadows.com/wildflower-gardening/wildflower-how-to/wildflower-seed-planting-instructions

Frequently asked questions about PulpArt

I ship every day, Monday through Friday, via USPS First Class mail. I wait until the afternoon to take orders to the post office to capture as many orders as I can. (But I will go early in the day if my customer has a time issue like an Express Mail drop-off.) So it may take as long as 24 hours for your package to be shipped but it is often much less. And if you want to know a little secret, I live within walking distance from a post office so sometimes, and especially on nice days or if I have an errand to run, I will make a second trip to mail something if I get a sale late in the day. I often ship on Saturdays, even though I officially say that I ship Monday through Friday.
I do not wholesale my plantable products but I do wholesale my Petal People pressed flower art cards. Please inquire for more information.
Because of customs regulations for shipping live seeds to other countries, I do not offer international shipping on my plantable products but do ship my Petal People cards internationally.
Because I get so many donation requests, I have had to limit those charities to whom I donate. I now only donate locally, and to companies and charities with whom my family is directly involved.
Yes! However, I am very selective who I give my products to, and I don't give them very often. I will need proof of a certain amount of consistent readership, as well as evidence of cross-promotion on social media, and a well-established presence in either the crafting world, wedding market or another audience that hits my target customer base.
When I package up an order, I print a shipping label in my studio. Once the label is printed, an email is automatically sent with tracking info, but your package has not been shipped yet. When I drop off the package at the post office, it is scanned with the postal gun. The postal folks don't transfer that information from the gun to their computer system until after 5 pm when they upload the scans into their computer. It can still take a few more hours for tracking info to appear on the website. If you have been sent an email with tracking but it isn't showing up, just check back a few hours later or the next day.
