5 or 10 computer punch cards
- Average size:
7 3/8 x 3 1/4 in
18.7 x 8.3 cm
====================
Lots of great uses for these nostalgic bits of computer history - gift them to your favourite geek to use as bookmarks; cut them up for artist trading cards; incorporate them into your junk journal; create a pocket in an altered book; paint watercolour images and designs on them so the numbers show through; etc. etc. etc.
Did you see the fabulous Christmas wreath Chris Scapillato made with her cards? (Image #7) I'd almost forgotten about creating these until she so graciously sent me a picture.
Why not fold one in half and use it as the cover for a small notebook like Jekaterina from the Etsy shop 640kbytes did? (Image #68)

Computers have come a long way since the '70's. There was a time when you laboriously punched out numbers on card after card, in order to program the monstrous, mainframe computer. If you accidentally dropped them and they got out of order, that was the end of your program! The last image shows a stack of 62,500 punched cards — 5 MB worth — that held the control program for the giant SAGE military computer network.

We're happy to combine shipping between our two shops.
PLEASE BE AWARE:
Etsy charges sellers when a customer finds their shop via another site or search engine (Google, Bing, Instagram, Pinterest, etc.). We are forced to pay them 12-15% of the total order (including taxes and shipping!) on top of all the other Etsy fees. As well, if you enter anorder within the next 30 days, we will be charged, again. It would be greatly appreciated if, when you come across an ad or listing via any site other than Etsy itself, you do not click on it. Instead, if you would simply go to Etsy.com and search for the item or cut-and-paste the title into the Etsy search bar and find the item that way, you would be doing all the small businesses on Etsy a great favour. Thank you very much.
Why not add RubyDog's Art House to your list of Favourites? That way you can find us, again. After all, it's so easy to get lost on Etsy, isn't it?
