NARWHAL (Monodon Monocerus) Related to the Beluga Whale. Length 13-15 ft..Weight 1-1 3/4 tons. Has the most Northerly range of any mammal. Location- Arctic Ocean. One growing tooth- upper left incisor that forms as a long tusk which can grow up to 9 3/4 ft.. May be used against rival males during breeding. Most females lack a tusk but occasionally a male will have 2 and a female will have 1. Powerful lips & tongue suck up flatfish, mollusks, & crustaceans into it's mouth. Some Medieval Europeans believed it's tusk was from the legendary Unicorn.

Can be ordered facing left or right. If no preference is made when ordering, you will receive the one facing left as pictured.

Each original design is hand carved from Northern White Pine with a distressed antique finish. All designs are weather resistant with an exterior paint and stain.

The back of each piece is signed by the artist, and all pieces are finished with a saw-tooth hanger, making them ready to hang.

Dimensions: Approximately 4 ft. long, 9" wide, 3/4" thick.
