This listing is for a vintage Japanese print by famous artist Ando Hiroshige (1797 - 1858). The scene depicted is entitled "Evening Snow at Uchikawa" and is from the series 'Eight Views of Kanazawa'.

This beautiful woodblock print ( in Japanese 'ukiyo-e' or 'picture of the floating world') shows three Japanese men with large straw hats walking in the snow. In the background is a beautiful landscape with a bright blue lake and a mountain chain. A traditional Japanese village is visible on the right-hand side of the print.

The thin paper has some wear and the colours have slightly faded, which makes me think it is a nineteenth-century print. The picture was professionally framed. This modern frame measures about 10x 11 1/2 inches.
