This dress won the Western Canada Fashion Week Stylist Competition.

Slip on dress has a halter neck which fastens at the back with buttons on a scrap of lace and frayed chiffon. A broomstick pleated skirt falls from a bust bandeaux of stretch velvet. The skirt has two layers with an asymmetrical hem finished with a ruffle of net. A piece of embroidered salwar kameez crosses one halter strap and drapes across the bust. Netting falls from under the embroidery down one side. A drawstring tie cinches the empire waist.

My designs are created from reclaimed materials and are often married together with abundant layers of visible stitching. Imperfections are celebrated and combined with artful tattering and asymetry to enhance the personality of each piece. Edges are usually left raw and will gently fray and soften over time. Each piece has been reconstructed from reclaimed materials into a unique, one of a kind creation made spontaneously by hand without patterns.

"serendipity" collection
-------------------------------
Perhaps better defined as wearable art than items of clothing, designs from the serendipity line are often whimsical and fanciful but never ordinary! They include asymmetry, visible stitches, hand stitching and raw edges.

Serendipity: 1. a "happy accident" or "pleasant surprise"; 2. the accident of finding something good or useful while not specifically searching for it.
