Here’s the perfect gift for the fisherman in your life! My design was totally designed around the fishing lures. My two favorites lures are here, the dragonfly that gave its name to the basket and a crawdad lure. I know most people use feathers and beads for embellishments but I just think these pine needle baskets remind me of the outdoors and the forests around us where we collect the pine needles and where many a fisherman fish.

Near the base , I put blue-green beads with wrapped coils in blue symbolizing water and green symbolizing earth with a waving wrapped coil symbolizing the stream with the fish. And the long wrapped coil that encircles the lures and then wraps around the basket makes me think of the fishing line. You could use the basket to store the fish but I highly recommend that you don’t. It isn’t really big enough for the large fish your fisherman is going to catch and besides I think the basket smells better without the fish smell.

If you want more pictures of the basket just let me know and I will gladly show you more.

It measures 6 1/2 inches in diameter and is 6 1/2 inches high. It comes with a tag with the basket’s name, date, number, and signed by the artist.
