Hello, fellow beaders. My husband designed this deluxe Bead Board for me after seeing my frustration when yet another one of my projects slid off the bottom of my plastic design tray -- one like you’re probably using now. That flimsy thing didn’t have any space at the bottom of the design area where my focal could sit, so my project was pulled to the floor, and the beads went everywhere. Enough!

Our unique board has added width below the zero center point to allow your focal to lay on the same plane as the rest of your project. It is also much larger and heavier than those cheap, commercially available ones, so you’ll lessen the chance of scattering all of your hard work if you bump the table, or the cat jumps into your lap! And it has more and larger pockets for organizing beads than those tiny trays have. Our edges are nicely rounded everywhere, too, including the inside bottoms of the pockets, which makes it easy to get seed beads out of the corners.

The material that we use, MDF, is made of residual woods from other projects, so no new trees are used. It is quite dimensionally stable, so less likely to deform than cheap plastic or even some grainy woods. We use a type that comes with a durable, white Melamine top coating which helps when laying out subtle colors.

And our measurements are more accurate than some commercial trays, too, which I really appreciate. I also wanted to be able to use larger beads on long necklaces, so he designed it with more than enough room to fit 14 mm (9/16”) beads side-by-side in the three layout channels. The outer channel continues in a single loop to make it easier to lay out those extra long necklaces – up to 52”. And, because I spend so much time at my workbench, he made the board beautiful, too.

For the price of one inexpensive necklace set, you can really upgrade your beading experience. I know you’ll love yours as much as I do mine!
