A classic example of early American wrought aluminum craftsmanship. This extraordinary basket is made entirely of aluminum and has a picture of a hibiscus(?) stamped into the center. The handle is made of two hammered aluminum wire strands wound together, and is simply amazing.

The back of the piece is marked "Trade Continental Mark" "Hand Wrought" 812 with the picture of a continental army soldier. This basket is quite rare and would make a wonderful addition to any collection.

1.5" basket
4" to top of handle

I sell my metal pieces "as is" and make no attempt to clean or polish them. Prospective buyers are free to decide if it is patina or grime :).

Insurance is not included in the S/H quote.
Any S/H cost difference over $1.00 will be promptly refunded once the item ships.
