J-4240 Vintage Art Deco Filigree Necklace Dark Rose Glass Panels
A lovely necklace from the Art Deco era, this has an openwork setting with enchanting gold tone filigree shield shape panels and larger square panels with curled sides. The panels have a millegrain decorative technique with the smaller 4 panels all gilt, measuring 7/16 x 5/8 inches long on the sides. The larger panels with glass measure 3/4 and 1 inch square at the center. The glass is bezel set, there is a flea bite 1.5 to 2 mm on one of the side stones and probably a few scratches, nothing to detract from the overall appearance. Please remember, this necklace is almost 100 years old and it has been loved and worn. The chain and findings appear all original showing no kinks or repairs. The closure is an old, large thumb ring, the granulation is in excellent condition and the plating is still quite beautiful. It has not been cleaned.

This necklace was much more detailed than can be seen in the photo, and the condition of it is fantastic. It's beautiful! The chain is short, but luckily I'm petite with a very thin neck, so it fits me perfectly. People were more me-sized 100 years ago, apparently... I guess I'll just have to buy more vintage jewelry in that case.
