Colorful and whimsical, this mixed media drawing looks to me like a few scattered specimens under a microscope. Organic forms in saturated colors of green, ochre and violet are teeming with life in their the form of tiny overlapping stitches. Just what are these life forms anyway....plant or animal? Those pencil scratches look like writing...someone is documenting this species, no doubt!

Drawing is made with pencil and watersoluble crayons on Japanese paper, which is then dipped in beeswax. The paper is sewn to another sheet of Japanese paper for support through the tiny stitches in the middle of each form and the beads in the top corners. Delicate punched holes in selected areas create further subtle details and mystery!

Artwork measures 10"h x 8"w and will come carefully packaged and ready for you to frame or display as you desire. The beeswax makes the work delicate...please keep away from direct heat and the hot summer sun!

Thanks so much for browsing MissouriBendStudio...enjoy!
