Midcentury round teak lamp or coffee table. By Swedish furniture designer Karl-Erik Ekselius for J O Carlsson, Vetlanda, Sweden. Stamped on underside of top. He worked for J. O. Carlsson in Vetlanda, eventually taking ownership of the company in 1961. Like many of his Swedish contemporaries during the 1950s-1960s, Ekselius originated Scandinavian Modern furniture in richly grained woods like rosewood and teak. This table is a Classic example of furniture from the mid-20th century that essentially created the timeless look of the modern era. Functions beautifully as a lamp or coffee table.
