Square Cut Nails Assemeblage Art Steampunk Rusty Vintage Nails Rustic Country Decor

Beautifully rusted square cut antique nails. Authentic, unused nails can put the finishing touch on a restoration project, add a touch of vintage to new projects, be used in altered art mixed media pieces or add a simple vintage touch to your home decor.

In researching nails, we found these were cut from sheets of iron and later steel as masonry nails, designed with a blunt point and tapered shank to cause less spalling during nailing and giving a tight hold. These nails were also used for face-nailing hardwood flooring.

These are vintage farm finds, discarded many years ago on a hillside by the original landowner, a stone mason and builder. This hillside continues to yield interesting vintage finds, unraveling the rich history of life on our old farm.

We have used these nails to give a finishing touch to our new vintage inspired antiqued furniture pieces, as perches on birdhouses and enjoy them displayed in a glass vessel as a vintage home décor accent. Displayed in frames vintage nails make interesting wall art.

This listing is for one dozen of these vintage nails.
Nails measure about 2 ½ inches (6.5cm) long with a nail head about 3/8 inch(.9cm) wide.
