David and Nancy and their dog, Nipper, take an unaccompanied train ride to visit their grandmother in Chicago. They are cared for by the trains porters and conductor and have an exciting journey to their destination. David and Nancy are allowed a level of independence children today are unfamiliar with. No cell phones to call home when you arrive! In fact, Mother tells them their grandmother will write to let her know they got there! Written before "political correctness" became an issue, much of the "spoken" language of the porters would be unacceptable now!

This book is in good to very good condition. Cover is worn along spine, edges and corners and has a worn spot on the back. Spine is beginning to tear along the fold at the top, but it does not go all the way through the cover. Pages are free of markings and dog-ears, however one page is torn along the outer edge.
Book measures approx. 6 5/8" x 5"
