Size:
* Spoon rest size is about 3.7 inch (9.5 cm) diameter at the top, by 9.45 inch (24 cm) in length. Please note: My spoon rests are made to be lightweight (It is not a heavy piece of pottery).
* Small ceramic bowl size is about 3.5” diameter (9 cm) and 0.78" (2 cm) deep.

How do I make it?
Each spoon rest is hand-built from scratch, cut and shaped by hand from a slab of natural clay.
After drying, the dishes go into the kiln for a first fire (Bisque).
The next step is glazing (I use only food-safe glazes) and adding my "secret ingredient". The base is left unglazed.
The second kiln-fire is at a high temperature of 1200°C (stoneware).

These spoon holder and small ceramic bowl are hand built of white stoneware natural clay and glazed in lead-free food-safe glaze (color by your choice).

It takes 3-6 weeks until it is ready to ship.

Creating hand-built ceramics is a bit like making homemade cookies :)
I knead & flatten clay using a rolling pin. I measure, cut & shape each piece by hand (slab technique).
After drying the fragile clay pieces go into a 1st kiln-firing that makes them strong (Bisque).
In my designs I use lead-free food-safe glazes, leaving the outside unglazed for a rustic style, that combines the natural clay Matt color with the shiny glaze.
The 2nd kiln-firing is at a high temperature of 1200°C, for stoneware durable ceramic ware, that are microwave, oven & dishwasher safe.
Yeah! Finely ready!
Opening the kiln is always exciting "How did it come out?
Each item is unique with its own character & beauty.
Like my mother used to say: "Patience pays!"
