Here is an amazing black & white Twilight Zonesque photographic illustration from the Accident Prevention Manual for Industrial Operations, 3rd Edition, published by the National Safety Council in 1955.

Published in all sincerity, the images contained therein appear bizarre and carnival-like from today's perspective. The image offered here, Figure 29-1, depicts "a stationary, medium-pressure acetylene generator, carbide-to-water type." It definitely falls under the category "truth is stranger than fiction."

Fortunately, the deterioration of the book covers and spine did not affect the condition or quality of the illustrations inside.

The illustration, provided to the manual courtesy of Linde Air Products Company, is not a copy. You receive the original page. Actual image size is 4 3/4 inches wide X 6 1/2 inches high. Perfect fodder for the collage or decoupage enthusiast seeking materials of a surreal nature...

I am happy to combine shipping for multiple items of this same genre (flat, paper illustrations). Please contact me for overseas or expedited shipping charges.
