This is an Olympia SF portable manual typewriter in excellent condition. This machine has been reconditioned and is in ready-to-use condition.

The Olympia SF was Olympia's entry into the 'ultra portable' typewriter market. These machines are compact, yet they retain most of the features of their larger cousins, and are just as well made as every other Olympia I've had. There's a reason these machines were, and are still, so highly regarded; they are practically perfect writing machines. They type with clean, crisp strokes, are easy and intuitive to use, and are in all respects the ideal writing machine. Every Olympia I have come across pounds home the message that these are superior typewriters, and this one is no different.

As with all my typewriters, I've cleaned, adjusted, lubricated, polished, and installed a new ribbon with this Olympia.

**COSMETIC CONDITION**
Cosmetically, this vintage Olympia typewriter is in excellent condition. There are a couple of minor blemishes but nothing significant. At some point a prior owner etched his name and number in the machine's lower front frame, but this is not easily visible. The cream and gray color combination is a hallmark of Olympias from this time and is great shape.

This Olympia SF also comes with a carrying case in good working condition. A couple inches of the zipper fabric have come undone, but this does not prevent the zipper from working.

**MECHANICAL CONDITION**
Mechanically, this working typewriter is in excellent condition. It works with a clean, crisp typing action that is so emblematic of the Olympia machines. The platen (roller) has hardened some with age, but it is not so hard that the machine leaves significant indentations in the page.

**INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING**
I do ship outside the continental United States, so if you live outside that area, contact me and I can give you a shipping quote.

**RECOMMENDED BUYER**
I believe this typewriter is the ideal machine for a writer who wants to write with a high-quality ultra-portable, a collector who needs an SF, or someone who wants a small machine for decorative purposes. Olympias are, in my opinion, first and foremost when it comes to top-of-the-line manual typewriters, and I believe this machine would best be suited to someone who wants to use it on a regular basis.

If you know typewriters, you already know the quality of this machine. If you're new to typewriters, you might find it hard to go to anything else once you've experienced an Olympia.

Thank you, and feel free to contact me with any questions you might have.

Returns and exchange details

I sell vintage and antique typewriters that are no longer made, some of which are 100 years old or more. As much as I'd love to be able to tell you that they will always be problem-free and last forever, I can't, because they won't.

Older machines can develop problems without notice, even if they're properly maintained and loved. I promise to accurately describe, photograph, or video any typewriter I sell. If you want additional photos or have questions about anything, all you have to do is ask. You can also inspect the machines in person if you are in the Kansas City area.

So, to make a long story short, I will accept most returns, but I do ask that you pay for return shipping. If your typewriter does not work as it should upon arrival, I'll accept a return unless it was sold as a display model. Also, if you do experience a problem, many times there is a simple repair that will solve it. I can often walk you through the repair so you don't have to send the typewriter back.

Shipping policies

Unless otherwise agreed to or specified, I'll ship all typewriters via USPS, FedEx, or UPS at my discretion. I will use the method that is most economical for my buyers, and will ship to anywhere in the continental United States.

If you are located outside of the United States, please contact me before making a purchase. I can usually arrange shipping, but I don't want to make any promises I cannot keep.

As far as packaging goes, shipping typewriters is notoriously problematic for some people. Typewriters have heavy moving parts (the carriages) that can be easily damaged if not properly secured. I lock the carriages on all shipped typewriters if they have that feature, but I may also secure them with additional safety measures. I use a variety of techniques to make sure your machine gets to you in exactly the same condition it was in when I boxed it up.

Please be advised that some typewriters are very heavy, and can weigh 40 pounds or more. These heavier machines naturally have higher shipping costs associated with them.

Additional policies

A lot of vintage stuff, especially typewriters, is beautiful and awesome. But I suppose you already knew that.
