This is a Smith-Corona Galaxie 12 portable manual typewriter in excellent condition. It has been reconditioned and is ready-to-use.

The Galaxie 12 typewriters were introduced in the late 1960s as yet another Smith-Corona workhorse portable. These typewriters are reliable, easy-to-use, and can last forever. This particular machine dates from the mid-1970s and has a less common 11" wide carriage and an Elite (12 characters-per-inch) typeface.

This Smith-Corona vintage typewriter has been cleaned, polished, adjusted, lubricated, and is in ready-to-use condition. It also comes with a new, pre-installed ribbon.

**COSMETIC CONDITION**
Cosmetically, this Smith-Corona manual typewriter is in excellent condition. The two-tone blue color combination is bright and lovely and is nicely offset by the cream-colored keys and control pieces. There are some minor cosmetic flaws with this machine, such as a few paint blemishes and wear marks, but they are minor.

This typewriter comes with its original carrying case that is in good working condition.

**MECHANICAL CONDITION**
Mechanically, this blue vintage typewriter is in excellent condition. The keys are responsive, the platen is in good shape, and the control features are all working. The elite typeface is desirable, as is the wider carriage that allows for more paper options.

**INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING**
I will ship internationally, so contact me for a quote if you live outside the United States,

**RECOMMENDED BUYER**
I believe this machine would be best suited for someone who is interested in acquiring a vintage, workhorse typewriter, or someone who needs a blue machine for decorative or design purposes. Collectors who want to get their feet wet collecting typewriters and who want to start with a reliable, good looking machine but who don't want to pay antique or rare prices would also enjoy this Smith-Corona. This is a great entry-level machine, as well as a reliable typer.

Thank you for looking, and feel free to contact me with any questions you might have.

Returns and exchange details

I sell vintage and antique typewriters that are no longer made, some of which are 100 years old or more. As much as I'd love to be able to tell you that they will always be problem-free and last forever, I can't, because they won't.

Older machines can develop problems without notice, even if they're properly maintained and loved. I promise to accurately describe, photograph, or video any typewriter I sell. If you want additional photos or have questions about anything, all you have to do is ask. You can also inspect the machines in person if you are in the Kansas City area.

So, to make a long story short, I will accept most returns, but I do ask that you pay for return shipping. If your typewriter does not work as it should upon arrival, I'll accept a return unless it was sold as a display model. Also, if you do experience a problem, many times there is a simple repair that will solve it. I can often walk you through the repair so you don't have to send the typewriter back.

Shipping policies

Unless otherwise agreed to or specified, I'll ship all typewriters via USPS, FedEx, or UPS at my discretion. I will use the method that is most economical for my buyers, and will ship to anywhere in the continental United States.

If you are located outside of the United States, please contact me before making a purchase. I can usually arrange shipping, but I don't want to make any promises I cannot keep.

As far as packaging goes, shipping typewriters is notoriously problematic for some people. Typewriters have heavy moving parts (the carriages) that can be easily damaged if not properly secured. I lock the carriages on all shipped typewriters if they have that feature, but I may also secure them with additional safety measures. I use a variety of techniques to make sure your machine gets to you in exactly the same condition it was in when I boxed it up.

Please be advised that some typewriters are very heavy, and can weigh 40 pounds or more. These heavier machines naturally have higher shipping costs associated with them.

Additional policies

A lot of vintage stuff, especially typewriters, is beautiful and awesome. But I suppose you already knew that.
