Please meet baby hare India.

A textile ornament of a baby hare to display fondly in your home.

India is a very quiet little baby and she spends many happy hours alone in the meadow. In the evenings she comes home with her bag full of flowers, leaves and roots and she will be up way after bedtime sorting them out. Mama was getting concerned because she never sleeps in and as soon as she is awake and has had breakfast she is off again to the meadow. She asked India if she wasn’t a little tired after her long day playing? and India replied that she drinks such delicious teas that she has no inclination to doze off at all. Mama raised an eyebrow and wondered if India had any of this tea for mama to try and immediately young India raced off. She was back in 5 minutes presenting mama with a small cup of hot, delicious smelling tea. Mama took a sip and it was like heaven refreshing her after a very tiring day, amazing. Ofcourse she had to pick out the strands of grass from between her teeth. She asked India where she learnt to make this tea and was surprised to hear that the meadow animals had been teaching her every day all about the different plants. Thanks to the otters, foxes, wood mice, blackbirds and moles, to name a few, India knew about the herbs, flowers and weeds amongst the meadow grasses, by the rivers edge, in the shallows and the very rare ones growing amid the trees in the forest. Mama now looked at India’s daily collections very differently and asked if perhaps she would like any help? Oh! for sure! said India as she took out a chunk of some strange smelling fungus from her collecting bag.

India has been made with great care and she has safety eyes. She has been machine and hand sewn by me and will have many ‘unique’ (imperfect, handmade) bits.
However, she is not recommended for very young children and is not a toy.

India is looking forward to making a cosy spot on your shelf but she asks that you have plenty of space for her to put the weeds, roots and petals. She has so much learning still to do! Oh! and please leave the window open so that mama may come to visit and help with the sorting and taste testing. Unless ofcourse you would like to help with some of the taste testing too? India promises to make sure that nothing is too vile or bitter and will add a little honey from the meadow, just for you.

She is made of a piece of scrap sample material and has a polyfill and scrap material and thread stuffing, along with a full stomach of dandelion leaves (only joking!).
She stands approx 16.5cm high and 13cm wide. In inches – 6.5” x 5”

India is excited about her journey and is really looking forward to her forever home
She also wants you to know that baby hares are called leverets.
She comes with a small tag telling her story.

She is seen her with her friend Mir.
India has green eyes.
