Begun as hundreds of tiny pieces of (some) individually cut fabric, they are then arranged (and rearranged) on a flannel board (in my own original design) until at last the rearranging must stop and the sewing begins. Backed with batting and a lining, it is then basted and hand quilted (because it is too beautiful to machine quilt) and finished off with a sleeve for hanging, and binding. Having grown up in Kansas, a single tree silhouetted against a gorgeous sunset is not uncommon, and frequently draws one outside to stop their busy-ness for a few moments and contemplate something and someone larger than all of us. Washable if necessary, the dimensions are 36"Lx30-1/2"W. This "like a Monet" quilt (as my daughter says) can grace any wall, or be a lovely gift for a wedding couple.
