Dimensions

Height: 1 1/4 Inches; Width: 3 Inches; Depth: 3 Inches

This practical and handy vintage glass flower frog is designed to help an average homemaker creatively arrange fresh flowers like a pro in almost any decorative container, and often a container that is beautiful but not primarily considered a vase, e.g. pretty glass or china bowl or console piece, or ceramic basket or pitcher. You simply place the basically solid round glass "frog"(whose weight keeps it in place) into the center of your chosen container, fill the bottom of the container with water, and insert the flower or foliage stems into the holes in the "frog" at the height you want them. The frog does the work of holding the flowers beautifully in position the way you want them. And it's reusable. No worn out florist clay to clog the landfills.

A great many of these glass flower frogs were made in the mid decades of the 20th c. , and while there are still quite a few around they are getting scarcer in these days when disposable has become king.
But believe me, since I started using flower frogs once again a few years ago, I have become convinced that they deserve a resurgence. They are so much quicker, easier, neater, earth friendly, easy to store and reusable. And best of all, based on my experiences, the likelihood of stellar results using glass flower frogs instead of florist's clay is increased enormously. These glass flower frog guys truly make the job fun.

And they preserve a nice piece of Americana since most of them were make in the mid century American glass factories that turned out so many really pretty and practical things for American homes.

This frog measures about 3" across and 1 1/4" tall. It has the words PAT. APL. FOR embossed on the side of the piece, and while it does have a few small nicks out of the glass here and there (mostly on the bottom on the edges of the holes) it looks nice and is completely functional.

Containers are for display only.
