Necklace length: 20 Inches; Pendant height: 2 1/2 Inches; Pendant width: 1 1/4 Inches

A symmetrical polished cabochon of red Plume agate and a faceted oval yellow Citrine comprise the pendant centerpiece of this necklace. Plume agate has fluffy inclusions that resemble feathers, plants, or flowers, and is a variety of chalcedony with contrasting colors in the plumes. Citrine has a pale yellow, pale yellow orange, or pale greenish yellow hue and is a transparent, glassy variety of quartz. Citrine can be found in the Ural Mountains of Russia, France, Madagascar, and Brazil. I chose to set the polished cabochon in a smooth sterling silver bezel, and created a pronged setting for the faceted Citrine. Both are backed with 24 gauge sterling silver sheet. I created the hanger loop with coils of half round sterling, with an opening large enough for Sarah to run the beads through. The colors of the beads repeat the yellows of the citrine and the variety of rust reds, gray, browns, and yellows of the Plume agate. These beads include faceted Citrine drops and discs, red jasper, brecciated red agate, Fire red agate, cultured pearls, Swarovski crystal, and Czech glass. To add silver flash to the necklace, Sarah used multiple sterling spacer beads and larger elaborate sterling focal beads. The hook and loop clasp is also made of sterling silver. This necklace is 20 inches long, and the pendant centerpiece measures 2 1/2 inches long, by 1 1/4 inch wide. This is an elegant, autumn-colored necklace, and will go well with a wide variety of colors in clothing, great for both casual and formal occasions.
