Dimensions

Height: 1 Inches; Width: 7 Inches

Made from a section of root from a fallen red oak tree, this bowl has a wonderful squiggly shape as well as beautiful grain figure and coloration, all set off by the sparkling dark bark that forms the outer surface of the piece. In the interior of the bowl you can see intricate grain patterns, some bark inclusions and small voids. This piece is finished on the outside with polyurethane, and with a glossy lacquer on the interior. This bowl is quite similar to another one of mine: https://www.etsy.com/listing/694944505 These two bowls were carved from adjacent sections of the root. This one is slightly smaller, and it has a glossy finish while the other is bare wood buffed to a semigloss.

You couldn't ask for a more organic shape than this charming little bowl, formed from multiple fused and semi-fused tendrils of root. This sort of shape and grain structure can only be found in root wood.

7-1/2 inches in its longest dimension, about 5 inches wide and 1 inch high (19 x 12.5 x 2.5 cm). A nice size for holding candies or miscellaneous desk items, or perhaps to simply be kept as an ornament and enjoyed for its delightful organic shape and beautiful grain.
