Have an eyelet wedding dress? Add a little drama by wearing a colored slip beneath. I found this slip in the home of a woman who seemed to enjoy her Vanity Fair and bought bras and slips en masse in the 50s and 60s and would wear just a few pieces at a time until she wore those out and then she'd have more new ones with the tags still on. Turns out Vanity Fair slips don't wear out so quickly. The paper label on the hem of this dress says Surefire Red in cursive on the front and then Surefire Red is underlined on the list of Vanity Fair slip colors on the reverse. It's more of a hot pink, in my opinion.

This nylon tricot full slip dates to the very late 1950s or more likely the early 1960s and was made by Vanity Fair. The hem and bodice are trimmed with ample amounts of matching lace.

Labels reads:

~Vanity Fair
~Tricot All Nylon
~Size 34

Measurements:

I do not pin clothing on models, but prefer instead to show you my garments on people they actually fit. Janey's measurements are 36-28-40 and she stands at 5'6" tall.

~Bust: 38" Maximum. The gathering in the bust measures to 38" despite the size 34 label.
~Waist: 28"
~Hip: 40"
~Length: Adjusts from 38.5" to 42.5" while laying flat
~Sweep: 48"
~Lace Hem: 7"

Condition:

New Old Stock With Tags. How exciting! A piece of genuine vintage clothing that's never been worn before and still has the original paper tag attached to the hem. Just waiting for you to wear under all your favorite eyelet or sheer vintage dresses. Or as a tantalizing nightie.
