These Adinkra earrings are composed of a small brass Hye Won Hye pendant and a beige-brown Ghanaian recycled glass bead.

The "Hye Won Hye" symbol stems from the group of West African symbols called Adinkra symbols. This one means "that which does not burn". Hence, it is a symbol for imperishability and endurance.
