These large buttons are handmade in a speckled brown stoneware clay which I've stamped with random letters and numbers. It's quite exciting when a messy work table yields a new and cool idea! Truly, some of my best work comes from accidents and random juxtapositions!

They are glazed in a yummy shino glaze which is glossy and feels very nice to touch. Where the glaze pools into the stamped letter it is a lighter color. Where it's thinner on the surface of the button it's a shiny brown color.

They are about 1 1/4 inches in diameter. They are unglazed on the back but smooth. I have sewn them onto the card with embroidery floss and a tapestry needle so the hole will accommodate a larger needle.

These buttons can be the perfect finishing touch to your own knitted or crocheted project. They might even be a focal point on your mixed-media craft project or embellished wall quilt, or just the right closure for a handmade book or journal.

Fired to cone 5 in an electric kiln.

You will receive the buttons exactly as they are presented in the photos.
