Contemporary handmade marble. Made from borosilicate glass and the manipulation of 99.999% pure silver fume and particles. When the marble is almost complete it is allowed to cool to 1000 deg. Fahrenheit then is brought back up to a specific temperature. This action "strikes" the silver producing blues, greens, yellows and white. As with all the Silver fume space marbles the little specks that you see are not bubbles but small balls of pure silver.

This one is two spheres one with-in the other. For the inner sphere I did use gold so that the two spheres would be more defined. The outer sphere is nothing but silver. A lensed spiral galaxy on the back.

It measures 1.5" in diameter.

Signed and dated SC 2011.

For those who don't know a Planetary Nebula is the result of the convulsions of a dying star. As the balance between the outward push of the nuclear furnace and the inward pull of gravity deteriorate outer layers of the star are blown off and the light from with-in the star irradiates these layers.
