Vintage from the 1960s

Hardwood, Paint, Steel, Leather

Gymnast pommel goat of leather with wooden legs from Germany, circa 1960s. Substantial, sturdy, heavy duty to withstand the catapulted human form. "Braunschweiger" printed on the side of the pommel is a German city in Lower Saxony. It's also a smoke liver sausage from that area. Not surprisingly, "Turngerate" translates as gymnastic Apparatus. The pommel kind of looks like a smoked sausage though you wouldn't want to eat too many of them and then do a double flip off the goat. Still functions as a reliable gymnastic Apparatus. Also, an interesting sculptural object for the home. Excellent vintage condition. functional gymnastic equipment. quite heavy.
