I absolutely love this antique industrial tape dispenser made by Better Packages Incorporated in Shelton, Conn. This thing is built like a tank and has a heavy iron body that has a lovely aged black crackle paint finish over silver paint. This is for paper tape that must the dampened to adhere.

The Better Packages Incorporated company has been in business for 90 years and is still in operation today.

When you pull the lever on the side the gears turn and the lever on the front moves down and pushes the blade down on the tape to cut it off. On the front there is a small compartment that holds water and then that water dampens the brush and then it dampens the paper tape. I have not tested this with tape inside because I don't have any but everything seems to be functional and complete.

This is 13 3/4 inches long, 3 1/2 inches wide, and is 7 inches tall.
