During World War II, the Homer Laughlin China Company developed a line of fine dinnerware called Eggshell. It came in many decorations with one known as the Georgian and sold very well as a replacement for the fine European china that could not be transported across the Atlantic under wartime conditions.

It has two stamps on it:
Stamp one: Milbern State Plate American Made
Stamp two: Georgian Eggshell Homer Laughlin, Made in U.S.A. J 45 N 5
On the bottom of the front of the plate it says NEWBURGH, N.Y. in gold.

This plate is 8” and has very pretty scalloped curves on it. Nice plate for the collector of New York plates or round out your United States plate collection.

This plate shows pictures of Rockefeller Center, West Point, State fisheries, State Capital, Saratoga Springs, Salt museum, Aausable Chasm, Lake placid, Watkins glen, vineyards, peace bridge, and Niagara Falls.

It lists Lake Erie, Lake Ontario and boardering states like Pennsylvania, Vermont and Ontario.

It also lists various cities like: Middletown, Poughkeepsie, Kingston, Albany, Troy, Schenectady, Utica, Plattsburg, Massenao, Ogdensburg, Watertown, Oswego, Fulton, Oneonta, Binghamton, Ithaca, Syracuse, Rochester, Elmira, Hornell, Olean, Jamestown, Lackawanna, Buffalo and Lockport.

Great Plate! Use it in your next garden party! Tea Time Anyone!
