This stylish necklace features a beautiful set of inlayed dots that contrast nicely with the avodire wood pendant. No stock photos here...the necklace shown is the actual one you will receive. The wood dots consist of two black walnut dots, & one African bubinga dot in the center. Avodire is a very strong & durable yet very lightweight exotic blonde wood. Hanging off of a 30" steel 2.4 mm ball chain with a decorative charm bead that is used as a pendant bail. The chain can be cut to your desired length, just convo me, or leave a note on the check-out page if you want a specific length, I will ship as pictured with the 30" chain if no specific length is chosen. The handcrafted wood pendant measures approx. 2-1/8" or 54 mm long X 1-1/4" or 32 mm wide, and is about 6 mm thick, it was treated with mineral oil, & a natural bees wax paste that is hand rubbed to silky smoothness, this not only protects the wood, but it also brings out the luminous natural glow of the wood as well. This necklace would make an excellent gift! Thanks for looking!

About the wood used...

AVODIRE – (avo-dee-ray) Turraeanthus Africanus
The tree is native to the Ivory coast area of west Africa. Avodire also grows in Sierra Leone, Cameroon, Gabon, Zaire and Angola. Avodire is also referred to as Blonde mahogany. It is a rare wood that has many of the same tonal qualities and workability of mahogany, it is credited as being one of the most beautiful of all the blonde woods, even the less decorative boards. The light-colored heartwood will darken to a golden color when cut. There is not much difference in color between sapwood and heartwood. It is often highly mottle figured. When polished it has a lustrous surface, also reminiscent of mahogany. The grain is mostly straight but is often wavy or irregularly interlocked, producing a very attractive mottled figure on quartered surfaces and is often termed African Satinwood.
