An antique Victorian button & porcelain German doll arm from the 1800's make this 18" sterling silver necklace a unique conversation piece.

This pendant is made with an antique porcelain German doll arm that was reclaimed from the site of one of the Thuringia regions famous doll factories. This little arm measures 2" & has small chips reflective of its age & travels.

A 5/8" metal twinkle button is at the top of the arm. Twinkles have reflective liners that shine through cut-outs in the top of the button in order to provide extra shine. This one has floral cut-outs & a metallic maroon-bonze tint.

Around the wrist, mulit-hued, hand dyed silk ribbon by http://www.etsy.com/shop/OceanHandDyed is tied in a bow.

In Thuringia, Germany entire towns & villages were involved in the manufacture of some of the worlds loveliest dolls & figurines. It was not uncommon to see piles of dolls & parts in individual homes, where one person would specialize in painting the eyes & pass the piece to another that painted the hair.
