This sweet little 3.5 x 5 inch journal is handmade using recycled newsprint sheets that I use in my printmaking studio. The pages are randomly printed with bits of woodcut images, some ghostly layerings of colour and others with bright bits of heavy ink, giving you lovely varied surfaces for your lists, notes and drawings. The book is the perfect size to tuck into bodice, boot, jeans pocket or camera case to jot down notes and ideas on the run in elegant fashion.

This journal has 80 pages (40 leaves), lovingly hand bound in a single pamphlet stitch bound on the long side with black waxed linen thread, with rounded corners. The cover is high quality rag printmaking paper and features intaglio printing (red and pink), painting (overall layer of acrylic gesso) and relief printing directly from a knitted fabric (blue). While the book has smooth trimmed sides and rounded corners, due to the pages being recycled you might occasionally come across a page that's a little shorter than the others. I like to think of them not as flaws but as quirks, happy little accidents.

Please note: the pages of this book are newsprint and thus not archival; newsprint will yellow somewhat over time due to its acid content. This is not the book in which to write down your memoirs for your grandchildren or to draw your masterpiece, but it's the perfect place to make quick notes/sketches for both.
