A smashingly dynamic Modernist mixed metals artisan necklace and pectoral sized pendant from the 1940's or 50's. It is not signed (unfortunately), but it speaks for itself. One-of-a-kind, unique, unusual, cool. The chain links are handmade from thick gilded copper wire.

The pendant base is a large piece of copper which has been enameled with a black coating, upon which a large pre-Columbian style bird motif has been attached with copper rivets. It is also a piece of copper, hand hammered and gilded, with lapis lazuli, red jasper, and chalcedony stones set on it. Might I mention in passing that it could also be Peruvian or Costa Rican? Well, it is what it is, as they say.

Estate jewelry in excellent vntage condition.

Pendant measures 4-1/4" x 4". Chain has a hook and eye closure and is 31" x 3/8".
