Rectangular goldtone locket features an enamel painting. I think it is Pan and Aphrodite (The young man is playing pipes and he sort of looks like he has goat legs ???). I'm guessing it's a copy of a more famous painting. (If you happen to know, please set me straight!) The enamel is on a guilloche background

The etching on the back has an Art Deco look to it. My guess is this was made in the 1940s or '50s, when guilloche was very popular.

Locket measures about 7/8" by 1" and has space for two pictures inside. It snaps open and closed (clasp works well). I believe it is some type of gold wash over base metal. On the back you can see slight wear.

I have added a new bale and a vintage goldtone chain. It's a very nice, thick twisted chain about 23 inches long, fastening with a lobster-claw clasp in good working order.

Condition: There are a couple of pinhole glasw in the enameling, and the edges aren't filled in very well, but it's still a very nice piece of work, very charming. The locket shows some wear on the back where the goldtone plating has worn.
