This is the perfect gift for the mathematician in your life. It's a set of 3 rectangles woven together into a single symmetric piece of art. Each rectangle is a different color, but they are all the same size and shape. I think the distinctive colors of these three links are more visible in real life than in the photos.

I made these by weaving seed beads together with a needle and thread. This configuration of three links is know as the Borromean rings (or Borromean link), in which all three rings are collectively linked despite the fact that no two of them are linked to each other.

I originally designed a similar piece in different colors that was featured in my 2007 paper, "Three-dimensional finite point groups and the symmetry of beaded beads" where it serves as a representation of the pyritohedral symmetry group Th.

All of my beadwork arrives in an origami gift box, hand folded by me out of beautiful printed card stock.

Each rectangle is 27mm by 18mm by 7mm. The longest diameter of the whole sculpture is 28mm, or a little over an inch.
