deer bone, antique key, steel

This offering is another hidden blade Ritual Knife or Athame that is made from a found deer bone.

Following a cut/crack in the bone, one end of this found deer leg bone pulls out to reveal a small ritual knife or athame, and the whole thing fits together with an antique key slipped into the other end of the leg bone to hold it together. A chain keeps the key attached. The blade is made from a piece of shaped round steel, and the knife end slips inside the natural hollow of the deer bone.

The key doesn’t actually lock anything, it is slotted to fit into the bone, it slides in and out, and the chain has just enough length to allow removal. As such, the whole thing does not lock in place, they simply fit together. There is movement between the two pieces when its all together, just in case you were expecting it to be locked super tightly together - it isn't.

It measures about 9” in length, and the knife section itself is about 7 1/2" when pulled out, the metal blade being about 4 1/4".
