This piece was started many moons ago and I just found it in an unfinished state when I rearranged my studio the other day...like running into a long lost friend...we gave each other a big hug! I have done this little piece the favor of finishing it, which meant more time making tiny stitches in mixed up colors, leaving a few lines without stitches. As is almost always the case, the little book page announced its title to me in no uncertain terms, but not until after it was finished....of course, this is a Page From The History of My History. Aren't all our pages a something like this, a bit frayed, a bit loose, and somewhat colorful against the bloodline background of our collective history?

This book page is made on handmade paper that was painted with layers of slightly different colors of acrylic paint until it was the color of old leather or old blood. The two panels and the spine piece were dipped in beeswax and then sewn together through thousands of tiny stitches over endless hours. I love the rustic look of this piece and it's tattered quality, as if taken from some heavy ageless tome....the one we each have buried, all titled The History Of My History.

Artwork measures approximately 6 1/2"h x 9"w and will come to you carefully packaged and ready for you to frame or display as you desire.

Thank you so much for browsing MissouriBendStudio...enjoy!
